Our Story
A movement of resilience, representation, and radical self-love

Meet Our Founder
Jina Etienne
Jina Etienne is a licensed social worker, author, and the founder of Haitian Girls Brunch, a movement born from heartbreak, healing, and cultural reconnection. After navigating a painful breakup and working through the silence around her mother wound, Jina turned her personal story into a platform that empowers Haitian women to speak up, heal, and break generational cycles.
Through events, books, and storytelling, she's helping redefine what healing looks like for Haitian women everywhere.
Haitian Girls Brunch
Our Origin
Haitian Girls Brunch started with a book—and grew into a movement. Our mission is to create spaces where Haitian women can gather, reflect, and heal together. Through in-person brunch events, panels, and digital content, we center the voices of Haitian women while breaking through silence around identity, mental health, and womanhood.
We are culture, healing, and community.
Our Mission
Our mission is to help Haitian women become unshakeable through adversity, trauma, and generational silence. We create intentional spaces for healing, mentorship, and celebration—centering identity, self-worth, and the power of shared experience.
We foster sisterhood, friendship, and mentorship while providing access to resources, education, and entrepreneurial opportunities. We connect our community to brands and programs that reflect who we are—and serve as a powerful outlet for visibility, storytelling, and transformation.
Our Impact
Beyond community building, we proudly partner with brands that reflect and uplift our culture—connecting our audience to resources, opportunities, and products that truly represent who we are. Haitian Girls Brunch is more than an event—it's a movement of resilience, representation, and radical self-love.
We create intentional spaces that break cultural silence, shift generational trauma, and affirm the self-worth of Haitian women. Through our events, partnerships, and community initiatives, we're building a future where Haitian women thrive in every aspect of their lives.
